Making History.

On Sunday, I had to honor to be in a place that made history. Where? you ask. The New Orleans Superdome. I cheered on the 2009 Saints team to their first NFC Championship, and their first trip to the super bowl!

Was it an easy game? No. No one has ever accused the Saints of making it easy. It went into overtime after a Favre interception in the dwindling minutes of regular time. Then, with the Saints
wining the coin toss, Robey had a spectacular return. Hartley booted in a chip shot field goal to sent the former Aints into SB44.

Tears shed, hugs flew, jaws dropped. It was ecstasy and shock that filled the Superdome air along with the firework smoke and black and gold confetti. Here we were, America's new team, headed to the biggest game of all time.

I think I'm still in shock honestly. On the drive back to Baton Rouge, the Crescent City Connection was bumper to bumper traffic with people trying to get downtown and join the festivities. Did people mind the traffic? No. They hopped out their cars dancing, blaring "Stand Up and Get Crunk". Horns honked and honked and honked.

All I can say is "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints!" See you in Miami boys.
