I am going to update you upon the current projects in my life.
Books
- The Lie by O. H. Bennett- - This novel is about a young man who commits a grave crime, but then proceeds to lie his way out of guilt. He spins a complex web that continues to grow and where one lie turns into many others. Will he come clean? Will he get caught? Will this book be good? I'm not sure. I'm only on chapter 5.
- Somebody's Gotta Say It by Neal Boortz- - I have not started this non-fiction tirade against liberal thoughts, but it was in the bargain section. How could I pass it up? I obviously could not. I will keep you posted on how it turns out.
Art
- I am working on a Dumbo sketch ((you know. the cartoon character with big ears?)) The outline is done, but I have to finish the shading. Done in pencil on sketch paper. Don't worry. When I finish the drawing, I will be sure to post a picture of the completed product. I don't think it will take that much longer. Note: Drawing cartoon characters might just be my favorite thing to do. It's a guilty pleasure that I have.
- I just started on a painting the other day. A random urge to fling paint onto a canvas overcame me, and who am I to resist such urges? It is definitely far from Picasso's work, but I attempted to create a jazz scene inspired by the streets of New Orleans. In the right is a man playing the trumpet, and on the left is another person sitting down playing the drums. The background is a beige slash gray and the men and instruments are in black with yelllow accents. I began painting musical notes in lime green and yellow, but did not finish. The inspiration to create left me as sudden as it overtook me. Hopefully I will finish it one of these days. If I do, a picture will be posted of my feeble attempt at creativity.
Basically, I am trying to keep myself occupied in my remaining seven days of Summer. A feat not easily accomplished.
Farewell for now.
