Funday Friday

Hello Friday! I have been counting down the days till your arrival. I cannot wait to fully enjoy you. Yes, I do have class till 11:30. Yes, I do have a test at 1:30. And yes, I do have work till 6. After that though, Friday, you are all mine!

Plans for this Halloween's Eve: costume party. I will be attending as a referee. Unoriginal? Yes. I usually pride myself on my originality, but I have been rather busy these days and just threw this together. On the bright side, I will have a whistle as well as yellow flags. I plan on throwing the flags everywhere. It will be quite entertaining to me.

Also, on Sunday starts NaNoWriMo. I attached the link to the post. It is basically a mayhem month of off the cuff writing. I am reasonably nervous, and I will keep you updated on how my writing pans out.

Finally, I finished "Are you there Vodka? It's me, Chelsea". It is laugh out loud funny and an easy read. I might read it again to find the best quotes. Ten out of ten.

Au revoir! I am off to embrace my Friday. May the spirits of Halloween be with you. And remember... Trick? or Treat?

Economic Boost

Three tests last week as well as paper made my week miserable, obviously. My face broke out like a caged animal and my hair shed like an aged golden retrievers. There exists only one logical remedy.

Retail. Therapy. I did just get my monthly paycheck three days ago. It has spent enough time just sitting in my bank account. How would you like to just sit around in a vault? I can't treat my money that way.

Today, measley paycheck, I will set you free. And hopefully replace you with a black skirt or trendy dress. Maybe even a new pair of stilettos.

Off the wall bizarre it is.

A decision

I have decided to embark upon a writing journey of great dedication. In the month of November, I will participate in Nanowrimo.

Details concerning plot and characters will be posted when they are decided. Right now, I am trying to decide the overall feel. Comical satire? Or off the wall bizarre?

Nice to see you, October.

Hello october! It appears I shall spend you studying. Quite the downer. Yet pumpkins and coffee do have a certain charm together.

Bring on the books!

Book Review

I have just finished Dan Brown's newest adventure, The Lost Symbol. I must say, he once again delivers a twisting and thrilling plot. It is action packed, yet challenges the reader to consider the impossible. Warning: do not read if you have a lot of school work to do, for once you begin, you will not be able to put it down.

My review: **** (4 out of 5)

The plot takes many unexpected twists, and each chapter ends with something that makes you need to keep reading. It also presented many concepts that I had never heard of before, thus google was a key companion while going through the novel. The only problem I had was the ending. It seemed the build up and the conclusion were not quite in sync. Overall, a must read if you are a Dan Brown fan. I would recommend it to anyone!

Human Migration

Today, my friends, I witnessed a great scene.

It was a slightly chilly Wednesday morning, and I found myself rising from slumber at an ungodly hour: 6 a.m. My reasons were valid for I had to finish typing a mass communications paper due at 8:30. Without my trusted mactop, it left me one option--the library. Thus, I intended to be the first one there at 7 a.m. when the great doors would open, revealing the needed computers inside.

I groggily drove to school, found an amazing parking spot (for who else would be up at this time?), and began the treck to the ominous building as the sun began to sparkle above me.

As I walked in a trance-like state, I noticed something odd. Fellow students began to file in in front, behind, and on sides on me, following the same path as I. This is when I realized. I was a part of the 6:45 migration to the library.

It was a beautiful thing to witness, and I realized it probably happened everyday. Yet, this was my first experience seeing the mass migration. Each student had the same sleep deprived gaze and slight drool running down from the corners of their mouth.

"Oy vey!" I thought. "Look at what I have been missing!" I chuckled to myself and made a mental note to blog about it. I then quickened my pace in an attempt to beat the girl walking next to me.
